Nine 1/2 Weeks

1986 | 117 min | Drama, Romance

Weeknight Watch

Why it’s a Weeknight Watch

It made about 6 times its budget, but a weak 6.1 out of 10 from audiences held it back. Fine if it's on; don't plan your night around it.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it: Made for romantics. Critics rate it higher than audiences do, so it rewards patience more than it chases thrills.
The mood: Warm and romantic.
The pace: Takes its time with its characters, at 1 hr 57 min.
What might put you off: Rated R: expect sex.

An erotic story about a woman, the assistant of an art gallery, who gets involved in an impersonal affair with a man. She barely knows about his life, only about the sex games they play, so the relationship begins to get complicated.
