Weeknight Watchearly ratingWhy it’s a Weeknight Watch
With almost no lasting buzz and a lukewarm 48% audience score, it's a mixed bag. Fine if it's on; don't plan your night around it.
Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below. Is it for you?
- Who'll love it
- If you count yourself among anyone nostalgic for their awkward years and anyone who's already planned their apocalypse hideout, this one's for you. It gets the awkwardness and the high stakes of being young. If you loved The Cabin in the Woods, start here. The undead are the backdrop; how people treat each other is the real story.
- The mood
- Scary.
- The pace
- Builds dread steadily, at 1 hr 25 min. Short enough for a weeknight.
- What might put you off
- It's in Japanese, so expect subtitles (or a dub).
- Not the pick if you want something heavy or meaningful.
Wracked with guilt over her younger sister's suicide, pretty young karate student Megumi accompanies a group of older friends on a camping trip into the woods, where they're attacked by feces covered undead.
