- Who'll love it
- If you count yourself among anyone who likes their monsters enormous and people who like their stories at full throttle, this one's for you. The scale is huge: humanity is very much the underdog. If you loved A Night to Remember or Beast, start here.
- The mood
- Exciting.
- The pace
- Lets scenes breathe, at 42 min. Done before bedtime.
- What might put you off
- It's in German, so expect subtitles (or a dub).
- Made in 1912: an older pace and style.
- Not the one if you want explosions or easy laughs.
Just a few months after the sinking of the Titanic, director Mime Misu recreated the shipwreck in Berlin and the surrounding area. Tinted scenes and creative special effects escalate the drama until the sinking of the ship, which was staged using a model on a lake near Königs Wusterhausen.
