Weeknight WatchWhy it’s a Weeknight Watch
It's still drawing plenty of interest, but a lukewarm 38% audience score and soft box office held it back. Fine if it's on; don't plan your night around it.
Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below. Is it for you?
- Who'll love it
- Best for anyone with a complicated family (so, everyone) and anyone building a Halloween watchlist. Family ties get tested in ways that ring true. Shelve it next to Beetlejuice Beetlejuice. Spooky-season viewing, made for October nights.
- The mood
- Scary.
- The pace
- Keeps the tension tight, at 1 hr 26 min. Short enough for a weeknight.
- What might put you off
- Rated PG. Worth a look first if you have very young kids.
- Skip it if you're after something serious tonight.
The Addams Family goes on a search for their relatives. Gomez and Morticia are horrified to discover that Grandpa and Grandma Addams have a disease that is slowly turning them "normal". The only chance they have of a cure is to find a family member hoping that they know a home remedy.
