With just 7% on Rotten Tomatoes, almost no lasting buzz and soft box office, this one could be a tough watch. Keep your phone handy.
Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below. Is it for you?
- Who'll love it
- Aimed squarely at anyone who likes to solve it before the characters do and people who'll be humming afterwards. It plays fair with the clues, so you can play along. Same wavelength as Grindhouse or The Wrath of Becky. The music is woven into the story, not just laid on top.
- The mood
- Tense.
- The pace
- Lean, with little time wasted, at 1 hr 31 min.
- What might put you off
- Rated R: meant for adults.
- Not for anyone who finds explosions tiring.
In Assassin's Bullet, Slater plays Robert Diggs, a black ops agent who comes to work for Ambassador Ashdown (Hunger Games star Donald Sutherland), tracking down a vigilante assassin in Eastern Europe. The maverick hit(wo)man has been taking out high-profile targets on the U.S. hit list, and Diggs must uncover the killer's identity before there's an international incident. The usual game of cat and mouse ensues.
