- Who'll love it
- Aimed squarely at anyone who loves backroom deals and speeches and people who love a true story told well. Power and ambition drive every scene. A good follow-up to Paris Is Burning. Steeped in the 1980s, from the music to the hair.
- The mood
- Eye-opening.
- The pace
- Moves through the story clearly, at 1 hr 30 min. Short enough for a weeknight.
- What might put you off
- Skip it if you want made-up drama tonight.
United in Anger: A History of ACT UP is an inspiring documentary about the birth and life of the AIDS activist movement from the perspective of the people in the trenches fighting the epidemic. Utilizing oral histories of members of ACT UP, as well as rare archival footage, the film depicts the efforts of ACT UP as it battles corporate greed, social indifference, and government negligence.
