Why it’s a Monday Morning Maybe

With a box office flop and almost no lasting buzz, this one could be a tough watch. Keep your phone handy.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it
If you count yourself among anyone looking to switch off and smile and anyone who enjoys a good scare, this one's for you. Best watched with the lights down and someone to grab. A good follow-up to Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.
The mood
Scary.
The pace
Keeps the tension tight, at 1 hr 30 min. Done before bedtime.
What might put you off
  • No age rating on record, so check it first for young kids.
  • It's in Spanish, so expect subtitles (or a dub).
  • Made in 1973: an older pace and style.
  • Skip it if you scare easily or watch alone at night.

An ordinary day's hike gets rough when two youngsters escape from the main group into the woods and, after finding a grotto, discover that there is more to it than just darkness.
