Why it’s a Monday Morning Maybe

With almost no lasting buzz and soft box office, this one could be a tough watch. Keep your phone handy.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it: Best for people who love a good family story and anyone who loves a strong drama. Anyone with siblings or parents will recognize something here. Same wavelength as Manchester by the Sea or The Glass Castle.
The mood: Thoughtful and character-driven.
The pace: Quiet, then quietly devastating, at 1 hr 49 min.
What might put you off: It's in Danish, so expect subtitles (or a dub).
Not the one if you want explosions or easy laughs.

Minor Mishaps is the story of a family's reaction to the untimely death of their matriarch, examining the effect of the tragedy on John, her husband, who is himself ill, his daughters, Marianne and Eva, and their friends and family. When a man's wife dies in an accident, his children return home to deal with the tragedy together. The film throws a spotlight on each of their lives as they confront the changed dynamic in the family and their own lives, with some surprises, revelations and false accusations occurring along the way.
