Is it for you?

Who'll love it
Made for anyone who's survived a family wedding and people who need a laugh after work. Relationships are put under a microscope, for better or worse. Sits nicely alongside The Magnificent Ambersons or Something's Gotta Give. Anyone who's had a job will recognize these people.
The mood
Funny with heart, romantic.
The pace
Takes its time with its characters, at 1 hr 56 min.
What might put you off
  • It's in Italian, so expect subtitles (or a dub).
  • Not the one if you want explosions or easy laughs.

Set in Genoa, the film concerns the financial struggles and emotional strain that occur after Michele loses his job. He and his wife Elsa are forced to give up their affluent lifestyle and cope with the tensions of moving into a smaller home, finding new work, and making sacrifices.
