Why it’s a Weeknight Watch

- Who'll love it
- If you count yourself among fans of deadpan, fly-on-the-wall comedy and people who need a good giggle, this one's for you. Shot like a documentary, played completely straight.

- Light and funny.
- The pace
- Quick and easy-going, at 29 min. Done before bedtime.
- What might put you off
- It's in Spanish, so expect subtitles (or a dub).
- Made in 1978: an older pace and style.
- Not the pick if you want something heavy or meaningful.
Two filmmakers travel around impoverished sectors of the cities of Bogotá and Cali in search of the images of abjection needed to complete a documentary commissioned by German TV. Meanwhile, another camera captures these “vampire” filmmakers feeding off the misery of their marginal subjects.
