Why it’s a Monday Morning Maybe

With a box office flop and almost no lasting buzz, this one could be a tough watch. Keep your phone handy.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it
Best for anyone who loves watching a plan come together and history and war-film fans. The fun is in the planning, the double-crosses and the moment it all goes sideways. A good follow-up to My Cousin Vinny. It puts you in the middle of the fighting, and doesn't let you forget the cost.
The mood
Dark and gritty.
The pace
Takes its time with its characters, at 1 hr 24 min. Short enough for a weeknight.
What might put you off
  • Rated R: meant for adults.
  • Skip it if you prefer quiet, talky stories.

Upon his return from Vietnam, an ex-soldier finds his neighborhood has deteriorated badly, and is being terrorized by a vicious street gang. He calls some of his GI buddies, and together they hatch a plan to get rid of the gang.
