Why it’s a Weeknight Watch

With almost no lasting buzz and a lukewarm 49% audience score, it's a mixed bag. Fine if it's on; don't plan your night around it.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it
Right up the alley of anyone who remembers how big everything felt at sixteen and zombie fans. Small moments carry real weight here, the way they do when you're young. Sits nicely alongside The Return of the Living Dead. The undead are the backdrop; how people treat each other is the real story.
The mood
Scary.
The pace
Keeps the tension tight, at 1 hr 27 min. Done before bedtime.
What might put you off
  • Rated R: meant for adults.
  • Skip it if you're after something serious tonight.

On the night of Cosa High's prom, a cemetery next to a power plant unleashes an army of zombies. With their town overrun, an unlikely group of outcasts, geeks, cheerleaders, and bad boys must band together to survive, save their classmates, and stop the undead invasion.
