Why it’s a Monday Morning Maybe

With almost no lasting buzz and soft box office, this one could be a tough watch. Keep your phone handy.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Who'll love it: A natural pick for anyone who likes stories from the past brought to life and anyone interested in what war does to ordinary people. Best on a quiet night when you're in the mood to feel something. Fans of War of the Arrows or Operation Mincemeat should feel right at home.
The mood: Intense.
The pace: Character-first and patient, at 1 hr 48 min.
What might put you off: It's in Korean, so expect subtitles (or a dub).
Skip it if you need something light and fast tonight.

The populace of a South Korean island rebels against police brutality. The protesters are labeled as communists, and the army is dispatched.
