Monday Morning Maybeearly ratingWhy it’s a Monday Morning Maybe
With a box office flop and almost no lasting buzz, this one could be a tough watch. Keep your phone handy.
Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below. Is it for you?
- Who'll love it
- A natural pick for anyone nostalgic for their awkward years and manga readers. Small moments carry real weight here, the way they do when you're young. Liked The Quintessential Quintuplets Movie? This is a good next one. It's anime, with all the big emotions and big action that comes with it.
- The mood
- Light and funny, romantic.
- The pace
- Lively and easy to follow, at 1 hr 33 min.
- What might put you off
- No age rating on record, so check it first for young kids.
- It's in Japanese, so expect subtitles (or a dub).
- Skip it if you can't get past animation (your loss).
While performing in a student film, Ataru cuts down Tarozakura, a large, ancient cherry tree. Strange things begin to happen all across Tomobiki: a mountain appears out of nowhere, spring changes to winter, and Lum loses her powers, while those around her act as if she doesn't exist.
