Why it’s a Monday Morning Maybe

With a box office flop and almost no lasting buzz, this one could be a tough watch. Keep your phone handy.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it: Aimed squarely at people who like their stories with a little danger and people who like stories about real, flawed people. One to watch when you can give it your full attention. Liked Coffy or City of God? This is a good next one.
The mood: Dark and gritty.
The pace: Takes its time with its characters, at 1 hr 55 min.
What might put you off: It's in Portuguese, so expect subtitles (or a dub).
Skip it if you need something light and fast tonight.

A public relations man is invited to guide an American millionaire during his stay in Rio de Janeiro. He gets involved in the most bizarre situations, from orgiastic mega-parties to confrontations with the police, meetings with drug dealers and movie stars, facing corruption and even murder.
