Weeknight Watchearly rating

Why it’s a Weeknight Watch

With a box office flop and almost no lasting buzz, it's a mixed bag. Fine if it's on; don't plan your night around it.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it
Best for fans of deadpan, fly-on-the-wall comedy and anyone who loves trying to stay one step ahead. Shot like a documentary, played completely straight. If you loved Midsommar or Fresh, start here.
The mood
Scary.
The pace
Keeps the tension tight, at 1 hr 10 min. Short enough for a weeknight.
What might put you off
  • It's in Russian, so expect subtitles (or a dub).
  • Not one for anyone who hates jump scares.

A group of Russian tourists go on a shopping spree to the neighboring Finland - only to be attacked by Finnish cannibals. We focus on a middle-aged woman and her teenage son who is shooting the film, as we watch it, on his cell-phone.
