Why it’s a Monday Morning Maybe

With a box office flop and almost no lasting buzz, this one could be a tough watch. Keep your phone handy.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it
Aimed squarely at anyone who likes comedy with a point and anyone who wants a laugh. The jokes have targets, and it hits most of them. Sits nicely alongside The Ballad of Buster Scruggs or Hud.
The mood
Funny with heart.
The pace
Quiet, then quietly devastating, at 1 hr 11 min. Done before bedtime.
What might put you off
  • Made in 1930: an older pace and style.
  • Skip it if you're after something serious tonight.

Wise-guy carnival barker Windy bilks a group of cowboys out of their money, gets caught and is forced into working off the debt on their ranch. He falls in love with Molly, the pretty owner of the ranch, but runs afoul of foreman Steve, who also loves Molly.
