Weeknight Watchearly ratingWhy it’s a Weeknight Watch
With almost no lasting buzz, it's a mixed bag. Fine if it's on; don't plan your night around it.
Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below. Is it for you?
- Who'll love it
- Made for anyone who appreciates a well-choreographed fight and people who love a story about friendship. The fight choreography is a big part of the appeal. A good follow-up to Kill Bill: Vol. 2 or Batman. The friendships are the beating heart of it.
- The mood
- Gritty.
- The pace
- Wastes no time getting going, at 1 hr 14 min. Short enough for a weeknight.
- What might put you off
- Skip it if you prefer quiet, talky stories.
A police sergeant is hoping for a few quiet weeks before his impending retirement, but his plans are scuppered when he is joined by an over-enthusiastic rookie partner who is assigned to him after failing her field test. To make matters worse, trouble looms when a group of white supremacists hold up a local shopping centre.
