Weeknight Watchearly ratingWhy it’s a Weeknight Watch
With almost no lasting buzz, it's a mixed bag. Fine if it's on; don't plan your night around it.
Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below. Is it for you?
- Who'll love it
- If you count yourself among politics junkies and anyone who likes comedy with a point, this one's for you. Power and ambition drive every scene. Shelve it next to Fahrenheit 9/11. The jokes have targets, and it hits most of them.
- The mood
- Eye-opening.
- The pace
- Well paced for a documentary, at 1 hr 28 min. An easy one to fit in on a school night.
- What might put you off
- It's in Italian, so expect subtitles (or a dub).
- Made in 1977: an older pace and style.
- Skip it if you want made-up drama tonight.
Much-censored documentary encompassing thirty years of Italian politics under the governance of the Christian Democracy (DC), entirely composed of — occasionally dubbed — archival footage.
