Why it’s a Monday Morning Maybe

With almost no lasting buzz and soft box office, this one could be a tough watch. Keep your phone handy.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it
Best for anyone with a complicated family (so, everyone) and anyone drawn to the darker side of the street. Family ties get tested in ways that ring true. If you loved Scarface, start here.
The mood
Gritty.
The pace
Wastes no time getting going, at 1 hr 42 min.
What might put you off
  • It's in Norwegian, so expect subtitles (or a dub).
  • Skip it if you like your heroes clean-cut.

Three young immigrant boys, Wasim, Riaz and Munawar, come of age in the east end of Oslo, Norway. They find school boring and become attracted to the hard boiled gang East Side Crew, run by brothers Sadiq and Khalid. Petty theft soon develops into drug dealing, violence and murder.
