With almost no lasting buzz and soft box office, this one could be a tough watch. Keep your phone handy.
Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below. Is it for you?
- Who'll love it
- Aimed squarely at anyone who remembers how big everything felt at sixteen and people who need a good giggle. It gets the awkwardness and the high stakes of being young. A good follow-up to Bottoms or Booksmart.
- The mood
- Light and funny.
- The pace
- Breezy, at 1 hr 25 min. Done before bedtime.
- What might put you off
- Rated R: expect sex.
- Not the pick if you want something heavy or meaningful.
Four high school friends plan to ride out their senior year taking easy classes, including a program for housing foreign exchange students and eventually all attending Ohio State. Hurdles befall each of the four: grades, higher aspirations, love. Is it the Foreign Exchange students that learn from their host or the hosts that do more of the learning?
