Why it’s a Monday Morning Maybe

With almost no lasting buzz and soft box office, this one could be a tough watch. Keep your phone handy.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it: Tailor-made for anyone who remembers how big everything felt at sixteen and anyone with a complicated family (so, everyone). Small moments carry real weight here, the way they do when you're young. Sits nicely alongside The Glass Castle. Family ties get tested in ways that ring true.
The mood: Funny with heart.
The pace: Quiet, then quietly devastating, at 1 hr 35 min.
What might put you off: Rated R: expect drug use.
Skip it if you're after something serious tonight.

The film follows Grace, a young woman whose irresponsible mother blows her college fund on her younger sister's beauty pageant campaign.
