Why it’s a Weeknight Watch

With almost no lasting buzz and soft box office, it's a mixed bag. Fine if it's on; don't plan your night around it.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it: Right up the alley of anyone drawn to the darker side of the street and anyone who likes to be kept guessing. Expect bad people, worse choices and a few surprises. Sits nicely alongside Touch of Evil or Sicario.
The mood: Tense, gritty.
The pace: Lean, with little time wasted, at 1 hr 29 min. Short enough for a weeknight.
What might put you off: Rated R: meant for adults.
Skip it if you like your heroes clean-cut.

Robinson, a once peaceful, law-abiding school teacher, has turned into an obsessed vengeance machine, intent on killing the man who murdered his wife - ruthless Las Vegas mob boss James Dolan. But to do so, Robinson must infiltrate the dangerous underworld, and devise a diabolical plan that will bury Dolan once and for all.
