Why it’s a Monday Morning Maybe

With almost no lasting buzz and soft box office, this one could be a tough watch. Keep your phone handy.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it: Aimed squarely at martial arts fans and fans of a well-timed joke. The fight choreography is a big part of the appeal.
The mood: Light and funny.
The pace: Fast-moving, at 1 hr 21 min. Short enough for a weeknight.
What might put you off: Rated R: meant for adults.
Not for anyone who finds explosions tiring.

3 college cheerleaders use their martial arts know-how to save their Sensei from mafia kidnappers, but must keep their extra curricular activities a secret in order to make it into an Ivy League school.
