Sunday Safe Betearly rating

Why it’s a Sunday Safe Bet

Critics loved it (100% on Rotten Tomatoes), though it had a box office flop. A safe bet when you want something reliable.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it
Best for people who can't resist a good whodunit and people who like the lights on afterwards. The investigation drives everything, one lead at a time. Same wavelength as Longlegs or It Follows. The scares come from the creaks and shadows as much as the jumps.
The mood
Scary.
The pace
Tense from early on, at 2 hr 17 min.
What might put you off
  • Rated R: expect violence.
  • It's in Tamil, so expect subtitles (or a dub).
  • Skip it if you want something to relax to.

Manohar and his family move into a new apartment on the 13th floor. However, their peace is disturbed by a spirit that uses the television set as a medium to communicate with them.
