With almost no lasting buzz and soft box office, this one could be a tough watch. Keep your phone handy.
Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below. Is it for you?
- Who'll love it
- Best for people who root for the clever crook and fans of a good revenge story. The fun is in the planning, the double-crosses and the moment it all goes sideways. Shelve it next to Avengement or Heat. A revenge story, so expect the pressure to build to a reckoning.
- The mood
- Tense, gritty.
- The pace
- Wastes no time getting going, at 1 hr 48 min.
- What might put you off
- It's in Swedish, so expect subtitles (or a dub).
- Skip it if you prefer quiet, talky stories.
Johan is a two-fisted Gothenburg cop who finds himself in a shoot-out with jewel robbers. After the smoke has cleared, one robber, shot by his accomplice, and an innocent bystander, are dead. Three witnesses, including Helen, identify thug extraordinaire Leo Gaut as being the dead crook's trigger-happy colleague. Gaut soon threatens the three witnesses, and only Johan, the badge-wearing hero, can save them.
