Weeknight Watchearly rating

Why it’s a Weeknight Watch

With almost no lasting buzz and soft box office, it's a mixed bag. Fine if it's on; don't plan your night around it.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it: If you count yourself among politics junkies and anyone who wants a laugh, this one's for you. Power and ambition drive every scene. Shelve it next to Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown or Instructions Not Included.
The mood: Provocative satire that goes after everyone.
The pace: Gives its people room to develop, at 1 hr 47 min.
What might put you off: It's in Spanish, so expect subtitles (or a dub).
Skip it if you're after something serious tonight.

Four ambitious and beautiful young women. From four very different corners of Mexico. Just like hundreds of others, they are caught up in the frenzy that sweeps the nation when Alejandro Mateos, one of the country's most powerful producers, dreams up a nationwide talent search to cast the lead in his next big movie.
