Why it’s a Monday Morning Maybe

With almost no lasting buzz and soft box office, this one could be a tough watch. Keep your phone handy.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it
One for anyone who loves an underdog and people who need a good giggle. The sport matters, but the people playing it matter more. Sits nicely alongside The Sandlot.
The mood
Light and funny.
The pace
Quick and easy-going, at 1 hr 6 min. An easy one to fit in on a school night.
What might put you off
  • Made in 1943: an older pace and style.
  • Not the pick if you want something heavy or meaningful.

The East Side boxing champion Muggs answers a challenge to a fight against the West Side champ but just before the match he is kidnapped. His friend Danny Lyons takes his place and wins the fight, only to have Mugs believe that Danny was responsible for his kidnapping.
