Is it for you?

Who'll love it
Aimed squarely at anyone who remembers how big everything felt at sixteen and fans of small-town stories. It gets the awkwardness and the high stakes of being young. Same wavelength as West Side Story or Sense and Sensibility. A place where gossip travels faster than the plot.
The mood
Warm and romantic.
The pace
Character-first and patient, at 1 hr 30 min. An easy one to fit in on a school night.
What might put you off
  • Made in 1940: an older pace and style.
  • Not the one if you want explosions or easy laughs.

Change comes slowly to a small New Hampshire town in the early 20th century. We see birth, life and death in this small community.
