Monday Morning Maybe

Why it’s a Monday Morning Maybe

With a box office flop and almost no lasting buzz, this one could be a tough watch. Keep your phone handy.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it: Tailor-made for anyone who's ever talked to their pet and readers who like to compare the book and the screen version. An animal steals a fair few scenes. If you loved The Black Stallion, start here. Adapted from a book, so readers can compare notes.
The mood: Feel-good.
The pace: Lively and easy to follow, at 1 hr 45 min.
What might put you off: It's in German, so expect subtitles (or a dub).
Skip it if you want something with an edge.

While spending the summer at her grandmother's farm, a girl discovers a talent for communicating with horses and tries to tame a fierce stallion.
