Is it for you?

Who'll love it
If you count yourself among fans of a good haunting and readers who like to compare the book and the screen version, this one's for you. The scares come from the creaks and shadows as much as the jumps. Fans of The Haunting or The Shining should feel right at home. Adapted from a book, so readers can compare notes.
The mood
Scary.
The pace
Keeps the tension tight, at 1 hr 34 min.
What might put you off
  • Rated R: meant for adults.
  • It's in Japanese, so expect subtitles (or a dub).
  • Not one for anyone who hates jump scares.
