Weeknight Watchearly ratingWhy it’s a Weeknight Watch
With almost no lasting buzz and middling reviews (56% on Rotten Tomatoes), it's a mixed bag. Fine if it's on; don't plan your night around it.
Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below. Is it for you?
- Who'll love it
- Right up the alley of people who like the journey more than the destination and anyone who's survived a family wedding. It's a road trip, so the detours matter as much as the destination. Shelve it next to It Happened One Night or Wedding Crashers. Relationships are put under a microscope, for better or worse.
- The mood
- Light and funny, romantic.
- The pace
- Breezy, at 1 hr 33 min.
- What might put you off
- Not the pick if you want something heavy or meaningful.
A young groom and his best man lost on the road trip to the wedding, run into a young English doctor. Set against South Africa's breathtaking landscapes, White Wedding is a high-spirited modern-day road comedy about love, commitment, intimacy, friendship, and the unbelievable obstacles that can get in the way of a fairy-tale ending.
