Why it’s a Monday Morning Maybe

With almost no lasting buzz and soft box office, this one could be a tough watch. Keep your phone handy.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it: One for anime fans and anyone nostalgic for their awkward years. It gets the awkwardness and the high stakes of being young. Liked The Jungle Book or Only Yesterday? This is a good next one. Its magic has rules, and the story plays by them.
The mood: Feel-good.
The pace: Lively and easy to follow, at 1 hr 43 min.
What might put you off: No age rating on record, so check it first for young kids.
It's in Japanese, so expect subtitles (or a dub).
Skip it if you can't get past animation (your loss).

Hiromi appears on the outside to be a mature, resilient girl, but on the inside she feels like she's falling apart. She is having troubles at home mainly because of her parents wanting to separate. Her dog, Junkers, tries to comfort her in ways no other dog can. You see, he can talk and grant her 3 wishes.
