Sunday Safe Betearly rating

Why it’s a Sunday Safe Bet

It earned strong reviews (69% on Rotten Tomatoes), though it had almost no lasting buzz and soft box office. A safe bet when you want something reliable.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it: A natural pick for anyone who loves a strong drama. Best on a quiet night when you're in the mood to feel something.
The mood: Thoughtful and character-driven.
The pace: Takes its time with its characters, at 1 hr 30 min. An easy one to fit in on a school night.
What might put you off: It's in Danish, so expect subtitles (or a dub).
Not the one if you want explosions or easy laughs.

Former Danish servicemen Lars and Jimmy are thrown together while training in a neo-Nazi group. Moving from hostility through grudging admiration to friendship and finally passion, events take a darker turn when their illicit relationship is uncovered.
