Why it’s a Monday Morning Maybe

With almost no lasting buzz and soft box office, this one could be a tough watch. Keep your phone handy.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it
Right up the alley of people who'll be humming afterwards and people who love relationship stories. The music is woven into the story, not just laid on top. Liked How to Marry a Millionaire or High Society? This is a good next one. Relationships are put under a microscope, for better or worse.
The mood
Light and funny, romantic.
The pace
Light on its feet, at 1 hr 33 min.
What might put you off
  • Made in 1955: an older pace and style.
  • Skip it if you're after something serious tonight.

This musical reworking of Too Many Husbands (1940), features Grable as a top singer and dancer who's been widowed by WW II. She marries her late husband's songwriting partner, Gower Champion, but the new marriage is thrown for a loop when Lemmon, her first husband, turns up very much alive and eager to see Grable.
