Why it’s a Monday Morning Maybe

With a box office flop and almost no lasting buzz, this one could be a tough watch. Keep your phone handy.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it
Best for anyone who's survived a family wedding and fans of a well-timed joke. Relationships are put under a microscope, for better or worse. If you loved Peggy Sue Got Married or Waking Life, start here.
The mood
Funny with heart.
The pace
Quiet, then quietly devastating, at 1 hr 23 min. An easy one to fit in on a school night.
What might put you off
  • It's in Portuguese, so expect subtitles (or a dub).
  • Not the pick if you want something heavy or meaningful.

Bruno is a young film editor who has just broke up his marriage with Regina, and returned living in his mother's house. Drowned in deep sorrow, something very weird happens in his life: people around him are gradually disappearing. But only for him. Some kind of blindness.
