Why it’s a Monday Morning Maybe
With a box office flop and almost no lasting buzz, this one could be a tough watch. Keep your phone handy.
Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below. Is it for you?
- Who'll love it
- Best for anyone who appreciates a well-choreographed fight and people who like their stories at full throttle. The fight choreography is a big part of the appeal. Same wavelength as Fist of Legend or Beast.
- The mood
- Exciting.
- The pace
- Moves at a clip, at 1 hr 23 min. Done before bedtime.
- What might put you off
- It's in Chinese, so expect subtitles (or a dub).
- Made in 1979: an older pace and style.
- Skip it if you prefer quiet, talky stories.
Two men meet as old friends but leave as new enemies. Before plans can be expedited the fight starts. As the title clearly gives away, only Shih Szu survives. Shih Szu alone makes the movie worth watching. She has the looks and the moves. The storyline strongly supports her motivation.
