Why it’s a Monday Morning Maybe

With a box office flop and almost no lasting buzz, this one could be a tough watch. Keep your phone handy.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it: Tailor-made for readers who like to compare the book and the screen version and anyone who likes big what-if ideas. Adapted from a book, so readers can compare notes.
The mood: Thoughtful and character-driven.
The pace: Lets scenes breathe, at 2 hr 15 min.
What might put you off: It's in another language, so expect subtitles (or a dub).
Skip it if you like your stories firmly grounded in the real world.

A remake of Vávra's 1948 atomic age thriller Krakatit. Engineer Prokop creates the devastating explosive “Krakatit” and soon confronts manipulative agents and imperialist conspiracies.
