Sunday Safe Betearly rating

Why it’s a Sunday Safe Bet

It made about 69 times its budget, though it had little lasting buzz. A safe bet when you want something reliable.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it: A natural pick for sports fans (and people who swear they aren't) and people who'll be looking things up afterwards. You don't need to know the game to feel the big moments. Sits nicely alongside Rocky or Queen of Katwe. Based on real events, so expect to go down a research rabbit hole afterwards.
The mood: Exciting.
The pace: Lets scenes breathe, at 2 hr 2 min.
What might put you off: Rated PG-13. Probably too much for younger kids.
It's in Hindi, so expect subtitles (or a dub).
Skip it if you prefer quiet, talky stories.

A chronicle of the life of Indian boxer 'Mary Kom' who went through several hardships before audaciously accomplishing her ultimate dream.
