Why it’s a Monday Morning Maybe

With almost no lasting buzz and soft box office, this one could be a tough watch. Keep your phone handy.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it
Tailor-made for anyone who loves a story about hope against the odds and anyone who loves watching the truth get chased down. The walls close in, and so does the tension. If you loved Grindhouse, start here. It's about the digging, and what it costs to get the story.
The mood
Scary.
The pace
Keeps the tension tight, at 1 hr 38 min.
What might put you off
  • Rated R: expect violence, drug use and sex.
  • It's in Italian, so expect subtitles (or a dub).
  • Skip it if you prefer quiet, talky stories.

Laura Kendall, also known as Emanuelle, arrives at a remote prison with a long, fictional rap sheet that will allow her to go undercover to report on the cruelties behind bars.
