Why it’s a Monday Morning Maybe

With a box office flop and almost no lasting buzz, this one could be a tough watch. Keep your phone handy.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it
A natural pick for anyone who likes to solve it before the characters do and fantasy readers. It plays fair with the clues, so you can play along. Sits nicely alongside Longlegs. Its magic has rules, and the story plays by them.
The mood
Scary, gritty.
The pace
Tense from early on, at 41 min. Short enough for a weeknight.
What might put you off
Not one for anyone who hates jump scares.

A film archivist revisits the story of Rustin Parr, a hermit thought to have murdered seven children while under the possession of the Blair Witch.
