Why it’s a Monday Morning Maybe

With a box office flop and almost no lasting buzz, this one could be a tough watch. Keep your phone handy.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it: Aimed squarely at people who love a good family story and anyone who likes a story with emotional weight. Anyone with siblings or parents will recognize something here.
The mood: Thoughtful and character-driven.
The pace: Lets scenes breathe, at 1 hr 40 min.
What might put you off: It's in another language, so expect subtitles (or a dub).
Not the one if you want explosions or easy laughs.

Florencia, the matriarch of the Filipinas family, is in poor health, and Yolanda, the eldest of the Filipinas children, finds herself in the unenviable position of keeping her bickering family from disintegration. As the tension rises, Yolanda seeks refuge in a local church. She is critically injured trying to break up a nasty fight between brothers Emman and Samuel, forcing her family to make a life-changing decision.
