Why it’s a Monday Morning Maybe

With a box office flop and almost no lasting buzz, this one could be a tough watch. Keep your phone handy.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it: Tailor-made for readers who like to compare the book and the screen version and anyone who loves a strong drama. Adapted from a book, so readers can compare notes.
The mood: Thoughtful and character-driven.
The pace: Takes its time with its characters, at 1 hr 20 min. Short enough for a weeknight.
What might put you off: Rated R: meant for adults.
Not the one if you want explosions or easy laughs.

It's the fall of 1985. The intertwining tales of three 5th grade friends, Chris, Joe and Ted, unfold in the suburban paradise of Palo Alto, as the threat of a mountain lion looms over the community.
