- Who'll love it
- If you count yourself among sports fans (and people who swear they aren't) and anyone in the mood for a love story, this one's for you. The sport matters, but the people playing it matter more. Fans of Letter from an Unknown Woman or Song Sung Blue should feel right at home.
- The mood
- Funny with heart, romantic.
- The pace
- Lets scenes breathe, at 1 hr 35 min.
- What might put you off
- It's in German, so expect subtitles (or a dub).
- Made in 1938: an older pace and style.
- Not the pick if you want something heavy or meaningful.
Constance, the young widow of a wealthy American, gets a love letter from the Engadine region, signed by the famous guide Toni Anewater she had met during a holiday in the previous year. Constanze and her friend Dorothy therefore go to Switzerland for winter sports. But identical love letters to other ladies in London, Paris and Rome have been sent. Toni does not know anything about the letters. Everything seems to be a cunning of the hotel owner to attract tourists.
