Why it’s a Monday Morning Maybe
With a box office flop and almost no lasting buzz, this one could be a tough watch. Keep your phone handy.
Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below. Is it for you?
- Who'll love it
- Right up the alley of fans of a good haunting and people who'll be humming afterwards. The scares come from the creaks and shadows as much as the jumps. Sits nicely alongside The Muppet Christmas Carol or A Christmas Carol. The music is woven into the story, not just laid on top.
- The mood
- Feel-good.
- The pace
- Paced for all ages, at 1 hr. An easy one to fit in on a school night.
- What might put you off
- Made in 1954: an older pace and style.
- Skip it if you want something with an edge.
Miser Ebenezer Scrooge is awakened on Christmas Eve by spirits who reveal to him his own miserable existence, what opportunities he wasted in his youth, his current cruelties, and the dire fate that awaits him if he does not change his ways. Scrooge is faced with his own story of growing bitterness and meanness, and must decide what his own future will hold: death or redemption.
