Why it’s a Monday Morning Maybe

With almost no lasting buzz and soft box office, this one could be a tough watch. Keep your phone handy.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it
Best for anyone who likes secrets inside secrets and fans of a well-timed joke. Nobody is quite who they seem. Liked The Day the Earth Stood Still or Close Encounters of the Third Kind? This is a good next one.
The mood
Funny with heart.
The pace
Quiet, then quietly devastating, at 1 hr 29 min. An easy one to fit in on a school night.
What might put you off
  • It's in Polish, so expect subtitles (or a dub).
  • Skip it if you like your stories firmly grounded in the real world.

A UFO lands at night in a typical Masovian village. The villagers feel honored and want to be as hospitable as possible for the unexpected alien guests.
