Why it’s a Monday Morning Maybe

With a box office flop and almost no lasting buzz, this one could be a tough watch. Keep your phone handy.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it
One for anyone who likes stories from the past brought to life and people who like stories about real, flawed people. Best on a quiet night when you're in the mood to feel something. Same wavelength as The Ten Commandments or Cleopatra.
The mood
Thoughtful and character-driven.
The pace
Gives its people room to develop.
What might put you off
  • It's in another language, so expect subtitles (or a dub).
  • Skip it if you need something light and fast tonight.

Under Pharaoh Amemphis III's reign, the most powerful in the kingdom, as vizier Burkis and a fanatic and xenophobic priest, will try to overthrow the Pharaoh. They will even murder the crown prince, Aker. But his twin brother will find a way to foil those fanatical plans.
