Why it’s a Monday Morning Maybe

With a box office flop and almost no lasting buzz, this one could be a tough watch. Keep your phone handy.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it
One for people who like their stories with a little heart-flutter and anyone looking to switch off and smile. Set in the 1960s, and it looks the part.
The mood
Funny with heart, romantic.
The pace
Gives its people room to develop, at 1 hr 27 min. An easy one to fit in on a school night.
What might put you off
  • It's in another language, so expect subtitles (or a dub).
  • Made in 1963: an older pace and style.
  • Skip it if you're after something serious tonight.

A sometimes blind and sometimes mute homeless panhandler becomes the pivotal point in a modular story composed of secret love affairs, bittersweet conclusions, the end of an era, and pure hope. How hard is it to find an honest man?
