Monday Morning Maybeearly ratingWhy it’s a Monday Morning Maybe
With a box office flop and almost no lasting buzz, this one could be a tough watch. Keep your phone handy.
Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below. Is it for you?
- Who'll love it
- Best for anyone who remembers how big everything felt at sixteen and anime fans. Small moments carry real weight here, the way they do when you're young. Shelve it next to HAIKYU!! The Dumpster Battle or My Hero Academia: Two Heroes. It's anime, with all the big emotions and big action that comes with it.
- The mood
- Light and funny, feel-good.
- The pace
- Wastes no time getting going, at 1 hr 30 min. Short enough for a weeknight.
- What might put you off
- No age rating on record, so check it first for young kids.
- It's in Japanese, so expect subtitles (or a dub).
- Skip it if you prefer quiet, talky stories.
After winning the fierce Inter High race, Sakamichi and the other Souhoku team members receive an invitation to compete in the Kumamoto Hi Province Mountain Range Race towards the end of summer. The top-tier teams from around the country compete in this race, including Souhoku's rivals Hakone Academy (which yearns to take down Souhoku), Kyoto Fushimi, and Hiroshima Kureminami - as well as Kumamoto Daiichi High School's team led by Shin Yoshimoto.
