Is it for you?

Who'll love it
If you count yourself among anyone who likes stories from the past brought to life and people who like stories about real, flawed people, this one's for you. Leaves you with something to think about. A good follow-up to Mr. Turner.
The mood
Thoughtful and character-driven.
The pace
Gives its people room to develop, at 1 hr 40 min.
What might put you off
  • It's in another language, so expect subtitles (or a dub).
  • Made in 1955: an older pace and style.
  • Skip it if you need something light and fast tonight.

Story of the revolt of the people of Serbia against the Turks, who ruled the country for four centuries. The battle and the fall of the fortress of Belgrade in 1806.
